Research on End Reinforcement Technology of Stainless Steel Reducer

  The three-dimensional finite element model of stainless steel reducer with different diameters was established. It was found that there was obvious stress concentration on the compressed end face of the wound pipe under the condition of axial compression by stress analysis. It was predicted that the edge effect of the compressed end face of the pipe would lead to the decrease of the axial compressive strength of the stainless steel reducer. The axial compressive strength of the reinforced and unreinforced pipe ends was predicted by the three-dimensional finite element model. Quantitative calculation was carried out to find that the axial compressive strength of the end-strengthened stainless steel reducer is obviously higher than that of the unreinforced pipe.
  The thrust support of space vehicle refers to the main load-bearing structure which transfers the large thrust generated by the engine from one structure to another. It is generally composed of stainless steel diffuser, stainless steel reducer, end frame and end plate.ASME B16.9 4Inch Stainless Steel Concentric Reducer with different diameters is the main load-bearing component of the thrust support.   The results show that strengthening the end of stainless steel reducer with different diameters can effectively reduce the negative effect of end effect on the axial compressive strength, and the axial compressive strength can be increased by more than 30%.
